CAMIGUIN GEARS UP FOR WORLD-CLASS IRONMAN® 5150 EVENT

Camiguin, Philippines (16 April 2026) - Preparations are in full swing for the upcoming IRONMAN® 5150 Camiguin, as Sunrise Events Inc. intensify coordination efforts with the provincial government to deliver a race experience aligned with global standards. In a recent meeting, event officials worked closely with Hon. Xavier Jesus Romualdo, underscoring the strong partnership between Sunrise Events, Inc. and the Province of Camiguin.

The collaboration highlights a shared vision of positioning Camiguin not only as a premier race venue but also as a key destination for sports tourism in the Philippines.

Known for its natural beauty and laid-back charm, the island is expected to provide a unique backdrop for athletes competing in the internationally recognized 5150 triathlon format.

This year’s race is expected to welcome around 300 participants from 13 countries, reflecting the growing international appeal of the event. Leading the field is Filipino Elite standout Bea Quiambao, alongside a strong lineup of local and international competitors.

A key feature of the event is the inclusion of the Philippine Sports Commission (PSC) Filipino Elite Category. The program aims to elevate local competition by bringing together the country’s top triathletes, including national team members and promising young athletes. It serves as a platform to identify and develop homegrown talent, while reinforcing the Philippines’ presence in the global triathlon scene.

Complementing the main race is the Sunrise Sprint, designed to make the sport more accessible to beginners and recreational athletes. The shorter-distance event is expected to draw a broader range of participants, further strengthening grassroots participation and community engagement.

With the support of local authorities and national stakeholders, IRONMAN 5150 Camiguin is poised to deliver an event that meets international standards while showcasing the best of what the island has to offer.

As race day approaches, anticipation continues to build for what is shaping up to be a significant addition to the country’s growing portfolio of world-class endurance events.
