Run for Mary set to bring families together for the 150th Anniversary of the Mother of Perpetual Help Icon

“Make her known throughout the world.” – Pope Pius IX

Celebrating the 150th Anniversary of the Handing Over of the Icon to the Redemtorists by Pope Pius IX, the Extraordinary Eucharistic Ministers of the Holy Communion of the Redemptorist Church in Cebu are holding a funrun to commemorate the historic event.

1,500 runners are expected for the event from schools, private companies, and even members of the LGUs and the military to raise funds for the church’s efforts in celebrating this 150 years of propagating devotion as expressed by so many people who have witnessed the many miracles of Our Lady of Perpetual Help.

This endeavor, headed by Fr. Crispin Mostajo and supported by the Eucharistic Ministers of Redemptorist Church, represented by Pete Clavano, Jun Llanos & Joel Juarez (of Coco Running), will be held on Saturday, Aug. 13, 2016.  The funrun will start at the Redemptorist grounds at Camputhaw Cebu City.   The route will go towards Juana Osmena, B. Rodriguez, to Fuente, Mango Ave., Gorordo and back for the longest distance.  The shorter distance will only be within the church premises and neighboring streets, safe for children and perfect for families to bond. Registration fee will cover race shirts, race bibs and finishers certificates.  Refreshments and special awards will be given after the race.
