CAMIGUIN, Philippines (23 October 2025) - The world-class 5150 Triathlon Series heads to new shores with the launch of 5150 Camiguin, happening on May 3, 2026. Known as the Island Born of Fire, Camiguin is set to welcome triathletes from around the country and the world for an unforgettable race surrounded by natural beauty, cultural charm, and warm island hospitality.
Nestled in Northern Mindanao, Camiguin is famous for its seven volcanoes, pristine white sandbars, and centuries-old landmarks. The event brings together sport and tourism, showcasing the island’s vibrant character and potential as a premier multisport destination in the Philippines.
“Camiguin has long been one of the country’s most beautiful and storied islands, and bringing a 5150 race here allows us to combine both adventure and cultural discovery,” said Princess Galura, President and General Manager of the Sunrise Events Inc., exclusive licensee of the IRONMAN brand in the Philippines. “Each 5150 race is designed to highlight the beauty of its host destination, and Camiguin, with its iconic Sunken Cemetery and scenic coastal roads, is an unforgettable addition to our calendar.”

The run course concludes at the Camiguin Sports Complex, where athletes will finish with a lap around the track oval amid cheers from the local community.
Governor Xavier Jesus “XJ” D. Romualdo welcomed the event as a milestone for the province’s growing tourism and sports initiatives. “We are proud to welcome triathletes from across the Philippines and around the world to experience Camiguin, not just as a destination, but as a community that celebrates nature, culture, and active living,” said Governor Romualdo. “Hosting the 5150 Triathlon reflects our commitment to promoting sustainable tourism and showcasing the island’s natural wonders in a responsible and exciting way.”
Open to both individual and relay participants, 5150 Camiguin offers the perfect setting for first-timers and experienced triathletes alike. With its combination of accessible race distances, scenic courses, and strong community support, the event is set to become a signature highlight in the country’s triathlon calendar.
“Camiguin embodies the best of what makes racing in the Philippines special: breathtaking scenery, a supportive local community, and an atmosphere of genuine warmth,” Galura added. “We look forward to giving athletes a race experience that truly captures the spirit of the island.”
