Back, Bigger, and Bolder: The 5th IRONMAN® 70.3® Davao Brings Racing and Festivities Like Never Before

DAVAO CITY, Philippines (3 October 2025) – The IRONMAN Group, together with Sunrise Events Inc., is thrilled to announce that the IRONMAN 70.3 Davao is back after one year of repose. Registration officially opens for the 2026 IRONMAN® 70.3® Davao today, October 3, 2025. The race is set to take place on March 22, 2026. Marking its fifth staging, the event promises to be the most competitive IRONMAN 70.3 race in the Philippines for 2026, celebrating half a decade of world-class racing in the King City of the South.
Athletes can expect not just a race, but a festival of endurance and community. The city will come alive with massive festivities in the land of the Tribu Maisugon, showcasing Davao’s cultural pride, vibrant local traditions, and the unmatched warmth of its people.
The course itself is set against some of the country’s most spectacular backdrops: a 1.9km swim in Talomo Bay with Mt. Apo as a dramatic frame, a 90km bike course along the lightning-fast Davao City Coastal Road, and a 21.1km run through seaside and urban stretches lined with thousands of cheering supporters, culminating in an unforgettable red carpet finish.

What’s New in 2026
For its milestone year, the 2026 IRONMAN 70.3 Davao will unveil a new race logo that embodies the bold energy of the city, the resilience of its people, and the unity of athletes who gather from around the world to compete in the King City of the South. The refreshed design reflects the evolution of the race as it celebrates five years of unforgettable competition and community spirit.
This year also introduces new race categories and events to make the experience even more inclusive. The Gwapa Dabawenya Run returns bigger than ever with three distances – the 21km Pinakagwapa, 10km Mas Gwapa, and 5km Gwapa Dabawenya – celebrating the strength, beauty, and empowering spirit of Dabawenyas.
To welcome more first-timers into the world of multisport, a Sprint Distance triathlon will be staged, giving beginners and returning athletes the chance to experience the thrill of racing in Davao on a shorter yet equally exciting course.
The next generation of champions will also have their own spotlight with the launch of the IRONKIDS Aquathlon, a swim-and-run format designed to introduce young athletes to the sport in a fun and supportive environment. This addition strengthens IRONMAN 70.3 Davao’s commitment to building a lasting sports legacy for the community.
