LAPU-LAPU CITY, CEBU, PHILIPPINES – On August 10, 2025, close to 3,000 participants from 49 countries will converge on the iconic shores of Mactan for the events of the IRONMAN 70.3 Lapu-Lapu presented by Megaworld. With a stunning race course, a weeklong celebration of sport and community, and an elevated race experience, this year’s edition is poised to be one of the most exciting yet.

At the heart of the weekend is the main event, IRONMAN 70.3 Lapu-Lapu presented by Megaworld, featuring a 1.9km swim at The Mactan Newtown Beach, a 90km ride across the Cebu–Cordova Link Expressway (CCLEX), and a 21.1km run through vibrant local communities. The race highlights the natural beauty and cultural richness of Cebu while giving athletes an unforgettable challenge. Alongside the headline race, side events such as the Sunrise Sprint, IRONKIDS, and 2GO Reyna Bulakna Run bring the total number of athletes participating over the weekend close to 3,000, as well as the friends, families, and supporters that add to the electric atmosphere.

At the heart of community engagement is the IRONMAN Community Marketplace, open from August 1–10 at the Mactan Liberty Shrine. Featuring local vendors, the official welcome program, and a charity auction, the marketplace supports the ChanCares healthcare program, led by Congressman Ahong Chan and Mayor Cindi Chan.

Athletes will also enjoy several race-first enhancements: the return of the Season Badge Blitz, which rewards IRONMAN TriClubs for team participation with ₱10,000 in the Lapu-Lapu race and a ₱50,000 prize for the year’s top-performing club awarded at the end of the year; and a Japanese-language athlete briefing, recognizing the strong Japanese turnout.

Capping off race day is the much-anticipated Awards Ceremony, followed by the Rolldown Ceremony where 70 coveted slots to the 2026 IRONMAN 70.3 World Championship will be awarded to top-performing age-group athletes.
